Navigating the Tides of Change: Occupational Education Leadership Now
Looking to refresh your leadership skills, reconnect with fellow occupational education colleagues, and relax on the beach of Monterey Bay? Then this is the year to attend the Vocational Education Leadership Institute. There will be plenty of opportunities to learn new techniques, share your experiences, and enjoy a luxurious resort atmosphere, only steps away from the beach.
About the Institute
The Vocational Education Leadership Institute
is designed to develop and promote leadership
among occupational faculty at local, regional
and state levels. The Seminar provides training
and a range of tools to the faculty in attendance.
One of the goals of the seminar is to encourage
more active participation of occupational faculty
in the Academic Senate for California Community
Colleges. This Seminar helps to develop close
relationships with statewide leaders and other
occupational faculty members while informing
occupational educators about the resources
available to them.
Cost and Registration
Participation is limited to 70 attendees and
is on a first come first serve basis. The attendance
of the Institute including double occupancy
is subsidized. Single rooms are available
at an
additional cost of $175 to the participant. There is a flat $100 fee for the Institute
with $50
reimbursed after attendance. If registration
is received prior to December
28, 2007, an
additional $50 will be reimbursed.
Institute expenses, such as room, travel and
meeting meals will be covered by the Academic
Senate and a grant from the System Office.
Registration must be received no later than February 1, 2008.
According to the Senate policy, you and/or your college will be invoiced for any unpaid fees upon the conclusion of the event, including “no show” registrants. Refunds will not be granted for cancellations after February 1, 2008. Should there be any changes to the attendees’ registration including, but not limited to, status change, substitution or cancellation, this must be done in writing to: events@asccc.org. It is the attendee’s responsibility to ensure payment of the registration fee. If cancellation is made after the
registration
deadline you and/or your college will be billed
for the total cost of registration and room.
