The Academic Senate for California Community
Colleges is responsible for recommending to the
Board of Governors changes in the Disciplines
List for Minimum Qualifications for faculty hired
by California's public community colleges. The
enclosed
suggested revisions to the Discipline's List were
submitted to the Academic Senate at its Fall Plenary
Session held November 1 - 3, 2001. The next step
in the process is for interested parties to review
these proposals. We ask that you read those that
relate to your area of interest and share them
with others at your institution.
Two hearings have been scheduled for those who
would like to express their opinions or the opinions
of those whom they represent:
North
January 25, 2002 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Oakland-Waterfront Plaza
South
February 15, 2002 9:00a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
LAX-Sheraton Gateway
The information provided at these hearings will
be used to determine which revisions will be forwarded
to the Academic Senate's spring plenary session.
Delegates attending the Spring 2002 Plenary Session
held at the San Francisco Airport Westin Hotel
on April 4 - 6, 2002 will vote on revisions that
will ultimately be forwarded to the Board of Governors
for final action.
