Student
Learning Outcomes (SLO) and Assessment Institute
General Information
The SLO and Assessment Institute returns in 2009. The institute will take place on July 8, 2009 at the Sheraton Park Hotel. This institute occurs just prior to the Curriculum Institute. Because of the unique and important relationship between SLOs and Curriculum, we invite you to consider registering for both institutes.
The SLO and Assessment Institute will provide two tracks addressing: 1) training for new SLO coordinators and programs and 2) topics for experienced SLO coordinators with growing programs on their campuses. Breakouts will focus on assessment methods, getting, storing and using assessment data. We will be discussing the role of SLOs in program and curriculum review as well as looking at evidence-based practices that contribute to curricular excellence.
About the Location The Sheraton Park Hotel is ideally located within walking distance to the DISNEYLAND® Resort, the new Anaheim GardenWalk and the Anaheim Convention Center. Driving directions to the hotel can be found here. Self-parking for overnight guests and daily attendees has been discounted to $10.00/day. For those flying to the institute, the closest airport is John Wayne (Orange County/SNA) International Airport. There is not an official shuttle for the Sheraton. Attendees can reserve shuttle vans through Super Shuttle, which is approximately $16.00 per rider per way (as of August 2008.) Please be aware that the costs associated with travel are not included in the registration fee for the institute.
