Welcome to Plenary Fall 2009! Because faculty
leadership is so critical at this time, your
decision to attend this Session demonstrates
your commitment the new values of the ASCCC: Leadership,
Empowerment, Voice. Our organization
prides itself on providing leadership development
opportunities through all of our events.
Our resolutions, publications, website and presentations
help to empower faculty statewide as they
participate
in policy development and governance activities.
And the result of all we do is to ensure
the faculty voice in academic and professional
matters---locally and at the state level.
As you would expect, the breakouts and general
sessions are designed with your current challenges
in mind, such as: coping with budget issues;
meeting the needs of all of our students whether
through our curriculum, support services or
basic skills activities; student learning outcomes
and accreditation strategies; and an array
of current “hot topics.” Whether
you are a first-timer to this Plenary Session
or have been coming for years, welcome!
