P.O.W.E.R. AWARD RECIPIENTS Promising Outcomes Work and Exemplary Research
Awards
Janet Fulks, Executive Committee Member
This year at the Student Success Conference October
7 – 9, 2009, in San Francisco, several
faculty, researchers and college teams were recognized
for their work in student learning outcomes and
assessment. The awards were created and winners
determined by the Student Learning Outcomes and
Assessment Collaborative, a partnership between
the Senate and the Research and Planning group.
The awards ceremony included presentations by
some of the award winners addressing particular
issues important to the student learning outcomes
assessment processes occurring on campus. These
were creative winners who wrote songs, poems
and plays to express their thoughts – move
over Academy Awards. The Academic Senate congratulates
these winners who have done exemplary work for
their students and institutions. If you have
some questions, try emailing some of them. If
these winners are on your campus, be sure and
congratulate them.
