the Technology Committee is on hiatus.
Committee
Charge The Technology Committee has the responsibility
of considering issues surrounding existing
and emerging technologies and the implications
for teaching and learning. It has additional
responsibilities for making recommendations
to the Executive Committee on such technologies
and implications for the Academic Senate in
fulfilling its communication and representative
responsibilities.

Goal 1: The
Academic Senate will increase and make
more visible our service to local senates
Outcomes: Increased visibility
of the Academic Senate and local academic
senate to all faculty on the 109 California
Community Colleges
Objectives:

Examine and improve services to member
senates
Target
Date
Continue to strengthen local academic
senates in the area of technology. At
plenary sessions, continue to hold "Technology
Room" breakout sessions for demonstrations
of individual faculty technology activities
and Chancellor's Office projects. Participate
in general breakout sessions involving
technology and educational policy. Ensure
that technology issues are covered at
Academic Senate institutes, particularly
leadership and curriculum.

and/or formulate resolutions as needed

Community Colleges revise the definition
of "tangible personal property" in
Title 5 § 59402 to include electronic,
web-based material; and recommend that
districts may require students to pay for
electronic material only if the material
is in lieu of, rather than in addition
to, other generally available but more
expensive material which would otherwise
be required. Executive Committee to research

that the Board of Governors, through the
consultation process with the Academic
Senate, follow a system wide approach to
software and hardware selection for individual

and software programs for college
data reporting for all districts and colleges
in the California Community College System.

Architecture Committee (SAC), Digital California
Technical Advisory Committee (DCTAC), California
Community Colleges Satellite Network (CCCSAT),
and members of California Technology in
Education Collaboration (CTEC), which includes
