Julie Adams, CAE, Executive Director
Julie has been with the Academic Senate since 1996. In her current capacity, she is responsible for the organizational oversight of the Academic Senate, which includes supporting the 14 member executive committee, maintaining the operational integrity of the Senate, and providing the continuity for future executive committee members. Likewise, she works to ensure that the Senate is responsive to the needs of faculty in the field by tracking policy issues relating to academic and professional matters as well as identifying areas of major concerns. On a personal note, Julie is working on her doctorate in Public Policy.

Katrina Salazar, Chief Financial Officer
Katrina joined the Academic Senate staff late November 2010. She is responsible for the financial activities of Academic Senate and the Foundation. She brings to the organization more than 15 years experience in finance, audit and tax for a variety of public and private organizations. She is also a CPA and adjunct faculty member for Los Rios Community College District. Katrina’s education includes an MBA from Drexel University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Redlands. She also studied economics at the University of Edinbugh, Scotland. On a personal note, she is happily married to Roger Salazar and proud parent of two children.

Rita Sabler, Creative Director
Rita has been responsible for the look of all of the Academic Senate printed materials and websites since October of 1999. She took over the artistic direction and design of different facets of the Senate's work, designing promotional materials for sessions, institutes, and laying out countless publications. Rita completed her Master's Degree in Interface Architecture from the Elisava School of Design in Barcelona in 2004.

Tacia Bates, Office Manager
Tacia joined the Academic Senate staff in April 2007. She is responsible for managing the Senate Office including supervising the Senate staff, responding to questions about Senate operations, coordinating mailings and other resources to the faculty, as well as ensuring staffing at all Senate events. Tacia is "mother extraordinaire" overseeing the workings of the Senate Office while shepherding her own two young children through their education and other activities. Tacia is as passionate about the Senate as she is about its mission, the staff, and our goals for the future.

Kyoko Hatano, Administrative Assistant
Kyoko started working for the Senate in April 2004. She is responsible for many administrative tasks supporting the Executive Director, in cooperation with the other Senate staff members. Her duties include uploading the senate publications and resolutions to the website and maintenance of them in the database. She likes to travel back to Japan to see her family and old friends.

Jen Gross, Senior Event Coordinator
Jen joined the Academic Senate in May of 2007. Her primary responsibilities are coordinating the logistics of the many events the Senate hosts each year. Event planning is actually a small detour for Jen, as she graduated from Sacramento State with a Graphic Design degree. However, after a few volunteer experiences, she decided that event planning was her calling. Jen lives in Natomas with her husband, Matt, and their two cats, Lucy and Rerun.

Holly Deme, Program Specialist
Holly joined the Academic Senate in late-July of 2011. She is primarily responsible for coordinating the activities of the Course Identification Numbering System (C-ID) and Statewide Career Pathways Programs. Holly’s social work background, combined with grant management experience, closely models and complements the values of the Academic Senate and she brings a positive and enthusiastic commitment to supporting the community college system in California.
Koi Saelee, Accounting Associate
Koi joined the Academic Senate in December 2011.

Lashonda Shannon, Administrative Assistant
Lashonda joined the Academic Senate in late September 2008. She performs an array of duties which includes assisting her senate colleagues. Lashonda was in Lemoore, California. After graduating from high school with honors, she moved to attend CSU Sacramento where she is currently pursuing her Bachelor's in Psychology. Lashonda knows that education is a vital stepping stone on her journey to success and hopes that her efforts serve as an inspiration for her family and friends.

Tonya Davis, Executive Assistant
Tonya joined the Academic Senate in mid-July 2011. She is primarily responsible for supporting the Executive Director, the Executive Committee, and other administrative duties of the Senate Office. Her positive personality, loyalty and creativity compliment her responsibilities at the Academic Senate. She is committed to her professional development. Tonya is a proud mother of two boys. Her favorite pastime is singing and belongs to a local gospel ensemble that has toured the states inspiring and encouraging communities through song.
