Urge that any unused growth funds be kept within the California Community College System budget; and support that such funds be used to enhance funding in each area of inequity identified in the original system budget proposal.
Status Report

Completed. The President and Vice President worked with other constituent groups to move unused growth funds to areas within community college budget.

Whereas, The Academic Senate supported the System 2006-07 budget proposal, which attempts to resolve a variety of funding inequities in one balanced package;

Whereas, This package included proposed funds for growth, equalization, noncredit, professional development, part-time equity and full-time hiring; and

Whereas, The system may not achieve full use of growth funds in this and future years;

Resolved, That the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges urge that any unused growth funds be kept within the California Community College System budget rather than returned to the state general fund; and

Resolved, That the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges support that such funds be used to enhance funding in each area of inequity identified in the original system budget proposal, namely, equalization, non credit, professional development, part-time equity and full-time hiring.
