Whereas, The Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) took action to suspend Compton College's accreditation for administrative reasons rather than academic;

Whereas, Compton's faculty, working in relative isolation and without the necessary resources, including technological training and support and the establishment of student learning outcomes at the course level, continued to provide courses and programs for their students;

Whereas, The Compton College faculty maintained, revised, updated, and created new Course Outlines of Record that meet ACCJC standards and requested ACCJC guidance through administrators who never conveyed the request prior to the Commission's action to suspend accreditation; and

Whereas, The faculty at Compton College are currently meeting with local community organizations to assure everyone of the quality of education at their college;

Resolved, That the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges recognize the faculty and staff of Compton Community College for their resiliency and their outstanding service to their community and students during these extraordinarily difficult times, which were not of their making, even while they lacked the financial and administrative support to which they were rightfully entitled. MSC Disposition: System Office, Local Senates
