Whereas, The Academic Senate paper Part-Time Faculty: A Principled Perspective recommends that local senates work with their local collective bargaining agents to establish principled definitions of the professional expectations of faculty; and
Whereas, The California Part-time Faculty Association is hosting a conference at De Anza College on November 16, 2002, to facilitate a discussion among faculty leadership about defining the professional expectations of all faculty;
Resolved, That the Academic Senate encourage local senates to support the California Part-Time Faculty Association (CPFA) conference on defining the professional expectations of all faculty; and
Resolved, That the Academic Senate encourage attendance at this conference by part- and full-time faculty leaders of local senates and bargaining agents.
