Because of current budget climate.
Whereas, The local academic senates of California community colleges represent the faculty in their districts on academic and professional matters;
Whereas, In the decade since the passage of AB 1725, local academic senates continue to struggle to secure adequate resources for their essential educational role in academic and professional matters;
Whereas, Adequate local academic senate budgets are needed to benefit the faculty and their students in local districts; and
Whereas, Some local academic senates lack adequate budgets to develop necessary programming for faculty;
Resolved, That the Academic Senate strongly urge local districts to provide adequate funding for local academic senates to meet their obligations outlined in AB 1725.
