A letter was sent to senate presidents urging them to carry out the recommendations in this resolution.

Whereas there have been reports statewide concerning misuse of Partnership for Excellence funds, with the money being used for expenditures other than those intended by the Partnership for Excellence budget bill language, and

Whereas "student success," the overall goal for the Partnership for Excellence program, is clearly an academic and professional matter and thus requires mutual agreement or relying primarily on the academic senate for decisions regarding Partnership funds,

Resolved that the Academic Senate urge local academic senates to work with their college administration to declare allocations under Partnership for Excellence an academic and professional matter, thus requiring involvement of local senates, and

Resolved that the Academic Senate urge local academic senates to create, as a committee of the local senate, a Partnership for Excellence committee under the auspices of the local senates, and

Resolved that the Academic Senate urge local senates to work with their administration to require the local academic senate president's signature on all Partnership for Excellence funding allocations.
