Status Report

Completed. The paper has been published, posted on the Senate website, and circulated to legislators and all interested parties.

Whereas, The diversity and complexity of nursing programs in the California community colleges need to be better understood by legislators, outside groups, and community college faculty;

Whereas, An Academic Senate task force was formed in 2005 and charged with identifying and responding to questions about nursing education being raised by legislators and other groups; and

Whereas, The task force report has now been revised to include broader education concerns;

Resolved, That the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges adopt the paper, Status of Nursing Education in the California Community Colleges; and

Resolved, That the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges circulate the Status of Nursing Education in the California Community Colleges paper to legislators and other interested groups in order to inform discussions on nursing education. MSC Disposition: ICAS, IMPAC, Local Senates
