Update 6/25/2015: Deferred to Taskforce on PE, 2014-2015.

Whereas, Student athletes represent a significant portion of the at-risk student population within the California Community College system, and significant local, state, and federal regulations (i.e., Commission on Athletes, National Collegiate Athletic Association and Financial Aid) critically impact their matriculation;

Resolved, That the Academic Senate support the funding of local and statewide programs which research and address the needs of student athletes and which provide specific instructional and counseling interventions that increase student success in retention, degree completion, transfer, basic skills development, and career advancement.
