The Senate supported the concepts in the CCC Assess document and worked with the Chancellor's Office to appoint faculty to participate on the task force developed to work on CCC Assess.
Whereas, In its adoption of the Report of the Consultation Council Task Force on Assessment in Fall 2007, the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges supported the establishment of a statewide system for the sharing of assessment testing data;
Whereas, Given the continuing erosion of matriculation funding, colleges would benefit from a reduced cost in administration of assessment tests for the purpose of placement, savings which could be used to fund other vitally important components of matriculation; and
Whereas, "CCC Assess" is an exploratory proposal developed by the Chancellor's Office that aims to reduce the cost of assessment tests for placement in addition to providing a data warehouse that would allow for sharing of assessment testing data as well as facilitate the use of assessment data in research to support student preparation and success;
Resolved, That the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges support the concepts outlined in the "CCC Assess" document.
