Survey on Placement and Assessment
Practices for Basic Skills
Thank
you for filling out the survey. We are currently
done gathering the responses and are in the process
of analyzing the results. The results of the analysis
will be available on this page soon.
Information about the survey
The Academic Senate for California Community
Colleges has received a grant from the Chancellor's
Office to conduct a survey of placement and assessment
practices for basic skills. The survey covers
not only placement and assessment but also how
data from placement and assessment are used and
what services are provided to address the needs
of students who are placed into basic skills courses.
Responses from individual colleges will not be
reported, and all responses will remain confidential.
However, individual follow up on survey responses
may be conducted by the Academic Senate for purposes
of clarification or elaboration. The results of
the survey will be aggregated to show trends,
which will be published in a summary report by
the Academic Senate. These trends will provide
the basis for recommendations concerning placement
and assessment practices, which the Academic Senate
will forward to the Chancellor's Office for further
consideration.
Thank you for taking the time
to provide this information. Your participation
will further our support for basic skills students
throughout the California community colleges.
