WHAT: Convening faculty to consider the development of C-ID descriptors and model curriculum (MC) for certificates in Career Technical Education disciplines
WHY: This is the second phase in an effort to develop C-ID course descriptors to support local AS degrees and certificates, specific to CTE disciplines. These efforts are not focused on the development of Transfer Model Curricula; rather, the focus is on local "terminal" degrees and certificates that can benefit from statewide curriculum discussions.
These meetings are “come one, come all” to encourage wide participation and perspectives. Travel costs will not be reimbursed, but a light breakfast and lunch will be provided. Later, faculty will be appointed by their respective state senate to serve on the Faculty Discipline Review Group that will prepare draft documents for statewide vetting.
WHO: We need faculty from the disciplines below to join in discussions of their major. In addition, we need articulation officers to assist each group.
WHEN: Friday, October 30, 2015; Location: Double Tree by Hilton Anaheim Hotel
TIME: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
COST: Free!
We need faculty who TEACH courses in these fields – or related fields - to attend:
- Just Added! Biotechnology – Note: Faculty for Biotechnology was convened previously in 2013 to discuss the creation of C-ID descriptors. The focus of this meeting is to discuss whether model curriculum for certificates is appropriate and can/should be developed. The recommendation from this meeting will be forwarded to the Biotechnology faculty discipline review group (FDRG).
