Spring OER Regional Meeting - South
The Academic Senate for California Community Colleges is holding an OER Regional meeting in Southern California at Rio Hondo College 3600 Workman Mill Road Whittier, CA. 90601 on February 9, 2018.
The general session will take place in The Campus Inn. The breakout sessions will be in the Learning Resource Center. There will be signage on campus pointing attendees in the right direction(s).
Parking: Attendees please use the student lots at RHC. The student lots are the closest parking to the meeting space and there will be no ticketing in the student lot.
ASCCC’s Open Educational Resources (OER) Task Force is pleased to announce this regional event intended to update faculty regarding efforts to expand the use of OER in our colleges and to inform faculty at all levels in their OER experience, from the novice seeking to identify OER for their classroom, to the advanced user looking to facilitate OER adoption at the college. The interactive program will provide information, seek your feedback, and offer opportunities for networking.
Target Audience: Faculty who wish to learn more about OER, faculty who are currently using OER, and faculty involved in leading local OER efforts. The program is intended to appeal to anyone who has an interest in OER, no matter how new or how advanced.
Objectives:
- Increase awareness and use of OER.
- Identify - and remove - barriers to the use of OER.
- Inform faculty of current status and best practices of OER at our colleges and report from the work of the OER Task Force.
- Provide an opportunity for faculty with an interest in OER to network.
- Share strategies for mainstreaming OER.
