ASCCC presents the 2022 Faculty Leadership Institute, held at The Citizen Hotel, Sacramento, CA.and in Pathable's Virtual Event Platform*, June 15-18, 2022

*subject to change*

The Academic Senate for California Community Colleges’ Faculty Leadership Institute is being held this year at the Sacramento Citizen Hotel and via Pathable on June 15-18, 2022

At the 2021 Fall Plenary session, the delegates of the ASCCC voted and passed Resolution 01.03 Remote Attendance Option to ASCCC Events, and during the following December Executive Committee meeting, the committee identified three top priorities for ASCCC’s professional development events: Access, Engagement, and Impact. In order to make the event as accessible as possible for all attendees, regardless of the way they choose to attend, ASCCC opted to make one flat fee of $650 for the registration, based on the costs identified to put the event together. The costs include Audio/Visual that would allow online attendees the ability to interact with in-person attendees, and in-person attendees access to the Pathable site to communicate with online attendees.

We have experimented with different ways to address Resolution 01.03, including assuming all costs for A/V, as was the case for the 2021 Fall Plenary session which totaled roughly $55,000, as well as charging fully for the total cost of the event, as is the case for the upcoming Spring Plenary Session. We are also testing a limited hybrid solution for the Career and Noncredit Institute scheduled in May, where some breakout sessions are synchronous, while others are recorded and made available after the event. Faculty Leadership Institute's costs are significantly more than the expected revenue from registration fees, and thus, we are budgeting a loss of about $50,000 for the event, even with the flat fee structure proposed.

We hope that this flat fee structure for this hybrid institute will allow you to attend the professional learning event in whichever modality works the best for you and your college. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
