Whereas AB 3512 requires the Board of Governors to "create a California community college economic development program policy advisory committee," and
Whereas AB 3512 requires that this committee advise the Board of Governors "regarding that program," and
Whereas AB 3512 requires that the Chancellor submit an economic development annual report to the Board of Governors who in turn must submit a report to the legislature and governor, and
Whereas AB 3512 does not specify any role on the advisory committee for faculty and the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges,
Resolved that the Academic Senate support the concepts in AB 3512 only if amended to include a satisfactory role for faculty and the Academic Senate on the California Community College Economic Development Program Policy Advisory Committee.
