Whereas AB 938 has been signed by the Governor which authorizes an MIS reporting process between local colleges and the Chancellor's Office, and
Whereas the Chancellor's Office is seeking to shift its role of responsibility for ensuring regulatory mandates to a role of responsibility for accountability/outcome measures, and
Whereas these accountability/outcome measures would imply a shift from state to local control, and
Whereas the Chancellor's Office has made reports to the Board of Governors on the shift in the office's emphasis and responsibility, and
Whereas the Chancellor's Office has begun to implement this change in its office functions,
Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community College urge the Board of Governors to designate the Academic Senate as the consultation body which defines the accountability/outcome measure standards whenever they pertain to academic and professional matters, and
Resolved that the Academic Senate direct the Executive Committee to develop a paper on accountability/outcome measure standards, and
Resolved that the Academic Senate direct the Executive Committee to inform the Chancellor's Office and Board of Governors of this project.
