Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges commend the Accrediting Commission for the outstanding changes made in the proposed standards for accreditation, especially in Standard One: Institutional Integrity, Purposes, Planning and Effectiveness and in Standard 8C, Faculty, and

Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges endorse the proposed new Accreditation Standards with the following suggested changes: That in 8C.4 "substantial" be changed to "substantive" so that the first sentence in this item reads: The faculty has a substantive voice in academic or professional policy matters such as: the educational program, academic freedom, etc.

That there be these additions to 7B as underlined:

7B.1 Financial planning is based upon the educational master plan and provides for participation of the board of trustees, administration, faculty, and staff.

7B.2 Budget policies, guidelines, and processes are jointly developed by administration, faculty and staff.
