The Commission modified slightly the language regarding full-time faculty in the new standards, though the standards remain weak compared to previous standards and silent on the importance of tenure.

Whereas, Both Draft A and B of the Accrediting Commission's new standards make reference to colleges having sufficient faculty but make no reference to having full-time, tenured faculty;

Resolved, That the Academic Senate work with the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges to amend the proposed new standards to explicitly state that colleges must have sufficient numbers of full-time, tenure-track faculty to adequately develop and maintain academic programs of rigor, currency, and quality and to ensure the institutional integrity of the colleges as institutions of higher education.
