Whereas, In 1999 the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges published a paper called The Role of Academic Senates in Enrollment Management, but changes in both college operations and the faculty role in making decisions that affect course offerings have occurred since that paper was published;
Whereas, Resolution 17.01 F07 called for the Academic Senate to update its paper to address recent variables that now affect enrollment challenges; and
Whereas, The Educational Policies Committee has prepared an update to that paper to provide senates with information that reflects various changes in the colleges and their operations related to enrollment management;
Resolved, That the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges adopt the paper Enrollment Management Revisited;
Resolved, That the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges recommend to local senates that the new paper be used as a supplement to, rather than as a replacement for, the earlier paper; and
Resolved, That Academic Senate for California Community Colleges recommend that local senates and faculty use this paper as a general guide to inform themselves about issues and options as they participate in the development and implementation of enrollment management policies and procedures at their colleges and districts.
