Whereas Section 76355 of the Education Code allows governing boards of community college districts to require students to pay fees (of no more than $10 per semester) to support health services programs, and
Whereas Section 76355 was approved by the legislature in 1992 and calls for the Board of Governors to adopt regulations that describe the types of health services included in the health service program, and
Whereas regulations are needed to guarantee the appropriate use of health fee funds and the maintenance of accepted standards for programs at colleges which collect health services fees,
Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges support the adoption and enforcement of regulations for health services as prescribed Section 76355 of the Education Code.
