The President, Executive Director and Chair of the Governmental Relations Legislative Committee worked with the Student Organization to advocate for the legislation. The bill was signed by the Governor.
Resolved that the Academic Senate urge the Legislature to amend the Education Code to require two student members on the Board of Governors, appointed by the Governor from nominees furnished by California Student Association of Community Colleges (CalSACC), and
Resolved that the Academic Senate urge the Legislature to amend the Education Code to extend the term of the student members of the Board of Governors from one to two years with such terms to be staggered.
