The President informed the field via publication of the resolution.
Whereas many federal grants and much federal funding are dependent on numbers of people counted in the 2000 census, and
Whereas some federal grants are awarded based on specific demographics, and
Whereas there may be students reluctant, for a variety of reasons, to participate in the 2000 census,
Resolved that the Academic Senate urge local senates to work with their faculty to educate students on the importance of participating in the 2000 census.
