Whereas, Promoting transfer is one of the central missions of the California community colleges, and transfer is frequently subjected to changes in policy and procedure as a result of legislation, regulation, and/or the policies and procedures of our transfer partners;
Whereas, Concerns and positions regarding articulation and transfer have been regularly detailed in resolutions of the Academic Senate for over twenty years, and breakouts on a variety of topics related to articulation and transfer (IMPAC, LDTP, ASSIST, OSCAR, CAN, IGETC, etc.) have been a staple of Academic Senate plenary sessions;
Whereas, Articulation and transfer issues relate to a wide range of faculty concerns and are not limited to counseling concerns; and
Whereas, The Transfer and Articulation Ad Hoc Committee has served the Academic Senate for several years with no indication that issues subject to its expertise will abate;
Resolved, That the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges change its Rules to add the Transfer and Articulation Committee as a standing committee of the Academic Senate.
