Whereas a significant number of community college students lack adequate child care to enroll and/or continue their educational pursuits, and

Whereas inadequate child care support can adversely affect student performance in the classroom, and

Whereas many students with children are forced to drop classes each semester due to inadequate child care, and

Whereas many community colleges do not have existing child care facilities,

Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges direct the Research Committee to do the following:

1. Conduct a study of community college child care needs and identify existing child care programs and facilities

2. Present a report of the findings and recommendations at - the 1988 Spring Conference
