Whereas AB 1725 (Chapter 973, Statutes of 1988) requires local boards of trustees to submit to the Chancellor's Office affirmations of compliance and report success rates in increasing the hiring of ethnic minorities, and
Whereas the goal that 30% of all new hires by 1992-93 be ethnic minorities will best be met if every district strives to meet that goal, and
Whereas the goal cannot be realized if individual districts assume that other districts will exceed this 30% goal, leaving them free not to meet it,
Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges urge that the Board of Governors direct the Chancellor's Office to publish annually a college-by-college list of success rates in meeting the goal that 30% of all new hires be ethnic minorities.
