Whereas the Community College Articulation Numbering System (CCAN) Model was endorsed by the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges at its Spring 1999 Plenary Session, and
Whereas the CCAN Model was adopted by the California Community Colleges Board of Governors in March 1999, and
Whereas the CCAN Model complements the articulation work in CAN, ASSIST, IMPAC, and IGETC, and
Whereas the students in the California community colleges will benefit from articulation agreements that begin with faculty dialogues,
Resolved that the Academic Senate work with the Chancellor's Office to secure funding for the next phase in the implementation of the Community College Articulation Numbering System (CCAN) Model, which would
1) Allow additional disciplines to create their articulation matrix of comparable courses;
2) Encourage local colleges to formally adopt the comparable courses identified by discipline faculty; and
3) Encourage CCAN information to be published in class schedules and college catalogues.
CCAN has been superseded by the C-ID project.
