Whereas the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges is concerned about the mathematical preparation of California's high school students, and
Whereas the 1996 ICAS (Intersegmental Committee of Academic Senates) document "Statement on Competencies in Mathematics Expected of Entering College Students" describes the skills, approaches, experiences, and subject matter that constitute an appropriate mathematical background for college bound students;
Resolved that the Academic Senate endorse the ICAS (Intersegmental Committee of Academic Senates) 1996 Document "Statement on Competencies in Mathematics Expected of Entering College Students."
Resolved that the Academic Senate recommend to ICAS that is change the title to "statement on Competencies in Mathematics Expected of Students Beginning Baccalaureate Level Courses", and change all references of entering freshmen in the paper to beginning baccalaureate level courses.
