Status Report

The Board of Governors adopted the Disciplines List Revision, which is reflected in the updated publication of the Minimum Qualifications document.

Whereas, Both written and oral testimony given through the consultation process used for the review of minimum qualifications for faculty in the California community colleges, known as the "Disciplines List," supports the following change in the Agriculture Discipline:

Master's in agriculture, agriculture science, education with a specialization in agriculture, or other agricultural area (including: agricultural business, agricultural engineering, agricultural mechanics, agronomy, animal science, enology, environmental (ornamental) horticulture, equine science, forestry, natural resources, plant science, pomology, soil science, viticulture or other agriculture science) OR Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in agriculture business, natural resources, animal science, plant science, soil science, forestry, pomology, agricultural engineering, environmental horticulture, agronomy, viticulture or enology OR The equivalent; and

Whereas, The Executive Committee of the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges, having evaluated this evidence, supports the revision;

Resolved, That the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges recommend that the Board of Governors adopt the proposed change in the Disciplines List for Agriculture.
