Whereas the proposed amendment to the Education Code to modify how contract education instructors must be paid and evaluated provides for the adding of the private entity sponsoring the class to participate appropriately in the evaluation of faculty, and

Whereas the Education Code already provides for faculty teaching credit or noncredit contract education classes to be evaluated according to the procedures established.

Whereas the importance of the presence of discipline experts in the evaluation of faculty is reaffirmed,

Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges urge local senates to ensure evaluation of contract education faculty using the regular evaluation process.
