Whereas the lntersegmental Committee of the Academic Senates has developed statements on competencies expected of entering freshman in the areas of English, mathematics and the natural sciences, and
Whereas these competencies statements have proven to be valuable guidelines for high school faculty, students and parents in preparing students for college enrollment, and
Whereas the Statement on Competencies in Languages Other than English Expected of Entering Freshmen has been prepared with extensive secondary and postsecondary faculty participation to improve articulation by defining postsecondary program expectations,
Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges endorse the Statement of Competencies in Languages Other than English Expected of Entering Freshmen and encourage its wide distribution.
