Whereas the Academic Senate supports the goal of diversifying the teaching staff and building pools of qualified community college candidates with graduate degrees, and

Whereas building candidate pools frequently begins with recruitment and the first college experience of diverse and underrepresented students beginning at the community college level,

Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges support the establishment of statewide mentoring programs for graduate students interested in teaching in the community college system.
