Whereas, Community college faculty, staff, and administrators benefit by learning of the subsequent success or difficulty our students have upon transfer;

Whereas, Such information can provide valuable information for faculty-driven community college program review and accreditation efforts for improving transfer rates and general student success;

Whereas, Some California State Universities and Universities of California campuses routinely provide the home community colleges with information about student applicants, enrollees, and matriculating student (by name and declared major) who have transferred from individual community colleges; and

Whereas, Such information is often sent in the subsequent fall term, permitting use of that information in planning for subsequent transfers, articulation, and an improvement of counseling;

Resolved, That the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges request that such essential information be provided promptly by all public, senior transfer institutions in California to each community college of origin of their transfer students, with copies provided minimally to the local senate, the counseling center, the transfer center, and the articulation offices; and

Resolved, That the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges make public and share this request with partners with the Intersegmental Committee of Academic Senates, the Intersegmental Coordinating Committee, the Chancellor of the California Community Colleges, and the California Postsecondary Education Commission.
