Joint Advisory Planning Committee

Whereas the Carl Perkins Vocational and Technical Education act (VATEA) requires the identification of one state agency to receive funds under this act, and

Whereas California does not have an agency identified for this purpose,

Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges support legislation designating the Joint Advisory Planning Committee (JAPC) as the sole state agency to receive VATEA funds.

Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges support other legislation which requires cooperation between the community colleges and California Department of Education and prevent either system from acting unilaterally if JAPC is not designated sole state agency.
