Whereas literature courses encourage a student to question the traditions, values, and ideas of his/her own culture using as models the very best writing and thinking,

Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges recommend to the Intersegmental Committee of Academic Senates that it reiterate the value of, and the need for, literature courses in the general education transfer curriculum.
