Whereas Assembly Bill 462 is the omnibus legislation which updates the Donahoe Higher Education Act, also known as the statutory master plan for higher education, to reflect the policy recommendations of the Joint committee for Review of the Master Plan for Higher Education found in its April 1989 report "California faces...CALIFORNIA'S FUTURE." The major provisions of this comprehensive higher education reform legislation are described in an attached document, and

Whereas SB 507 provides that California Community College students, who were eligible as freshmen to enter the University of California or the California State University, shall be guaranteed admission to the campus, program, and major of their choice,

Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges support the Admissions and Transfer, Facilities Expansion, and Accountability principles as expressed in AB 462 and SB 507 as written on September 15, 1989.
