Whereas several academic senates in the California Community Colleges have expressed an interest in adopting a code of professional ethics in order more clearly to assert and delineate the responsibilities faculty believe to be inherent in the teaching profession, and
Whereas the American Association of University Professors has developed such a statement on professional ethics,
Resolved that the Educational Policies Committee of the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges study the AAUP statement, consider any amendments or additions which might be necessary in order to ensure that the statement is relevant to the circumstances of community college faculty in California, and present the statement to the Spring Conference for consideration and possible adoption.
