Completed. Language encouraging local senates to appoint a faculty member to coordinate Academic Senate awards is now included in the welcome letter sent to local senate presidents.
Whereas, In recent years nominations for Academic Senate awards have dwindled; and
Whereas, Academic Senate awards highlight the excellent work of faculty to serve community college students;
Resolved, That the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges urge local senates to identify a faculty member who will be responsible for announcing Academic Senate awards to his/her colleagues and promoting participation as appropriate. MSC Disposition: Local Senates
