Whereas the Vocational Education Division of the Chancellor's Office has undergone a major reorganization, and
Whereas the Chancellor's Office is asking colleges to form a consortium of colleges within a region to integrate and coordinate economic development and vocational education programs and services, and
Whereas these consortia will be allocating funds dealing with state leadership, gender equity, single parents, and displaced homemakers, and
Whereas there are no guidelines as to who will be representing the colleges in these consortia and it is in the best interest of community colleges to have faculty involved in the planning and implementation process,
Resolved that the Academic Senate recommend to local senates that they appoint vocational faculty to represent their colleges to the regional consortia being proposed to integrate and coordinate economic development.
