A agreed upon relationship between CCAOE and The Academic Senate was approved at an Exec meeting in Spring 2004. In addition, Rep participated actively & presented at both conferences this year.
Whereas, The California Community College Association of Occupational Educators (CCCAOE), recognizing that it shares many common interests and goals with the Academic Senate, has sought the input and representation of the Academic Senate in their activities and development of positions;
Whereas, The CCCAOE has valued and supported many of the stands the Academic Senate has taken on issues and has therefore sought to strengthen this relationship and join forces to address issues; and
Whereas, The Academic Senate has a direct link to the Consultation Council and the Board of Governors, and has a close relationship with Legislature and local senates that the CCCAOE does not have;
Resolved, That the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges invite the California Community College Association of Occupational Educators to participate in legislative reviews, to form a team approach to sharing information regarding vocational needs, and to work in developing strategies that support vocational programs.
