Whereas libraries are an integral component of a college curriculum and instructional program, and
Whereas faculty, including library faculty, are concerned with curriculum approval procedures, and
Whereas adequacy and recency of library materials affect the quality of college programs and are measurements used by external accrediting commissions and professional bodies, and
Whereas the State Chancellor's Library and LRC Advisory Committee endorsed the library faculty recommendation and requested that the Academic Senate approve and implement a revision to its recommended course proposal form,
Resolved that the Academic Senate Executive Committee consider the inclusion of a library and Learning resource materials adequacy component in Appendix 6 (Course Proposal Form) in the draft of the Academic Senate position paper Curriculum and the faculty (Spring 1987), and report at the 1988 Fall Conference.
