Support for Local Senates

Whereas the local academic senates have been given the primary responsibility for curriculum under Title 5, and

Whereas the concept of shared governance under AB 1725 demands that the districts make it possible to participate,

Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges recommend to the Board of Governors that it encourage districts to provide sufficient time and appropriate support staff to local academic senates so that they can achieve their expanded responsibilities in the areas of curriculum and academic standards.
