Summary

Status Report

VTEA funding has been approved by the federal government.

Whereas, Community college occupational education programs rely heavily on Perkins funding; and

Whereas, The continuance of this funding is currently being threatened;

Resolved, That the Academic Senate work with the Board of Governors and Chancellor's Office to ensure that Perkins funding for community college vocational programs be continued; and

Resolved, That the Academic Senate urge the Board of Governors to undertake advocacy with California congressional representatives and collaborate with congressional representatives from other states whose community college programs rely on this funding to ensure the continuance of the Perkins funding for community college vocational programs.
