Whereas the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges has a long established position of supporting technology that will enhance the educational experience of students, and
Whereas there are significant portions of the Technology II budget proposal for 2001-2002 that support these priorities,
Resolved that the Academic Senate support the allocation of funds to colleges to permit improved technology that directly enhances the educational experience of students, and
Resolved that the Academic Senate support prioritizing the use of Proposition 98 funds in the 2001-2002 budget cycle for local college projects and infrastructure, particularly those portions of the Technology II budget proposal that provide
Funding to colleges for campus-based instruction and student services technology that enhances the student educational experience,
Funding to colleges for the total cost of ownership concept (TCO) that will provide funding for adequate equipment refresh rates and technical support staff, and
Funding of adequate faculty training and development opportunities.
