Violence on Campus - Local Senate Action

Whereas budget cuts may affect campus security, and

Whereas campus security, however, is vital to the education of our students, and

Whereas there have been many instances of violence on community college campuses affecting students, teachers, and staff,

Resolved that the Academic Senate recommend to local senates that they urge their boards and administrators to:
a. Keep campus security decisions at the local college,
b. Maintain and strengthen local campus security measures which include immediate response, education and other corrective activities, and
c. Make data regarding acts of violence on college campuses available to the local senate.
