Whereas the California Community Colleges must broaden their pool of teachers from underrepresented groups, and
Whereas a community college internship program for those disciplines not requiring a Master's degree will enhance the quality of education provided to vocational students, and
Whereas the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges has already supported and accepted the issues paper on Vocational Education Interns (Spring 1992), (See Appendix A)
Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges recommend that the Board of Governors seek legislation to authorize faculty intern programs for those disciplines not requiring a Master's degree and who are within one year of meeting minimum qualifications for hire.
